2018 DM: $42K+
After raising over $18,000 during their freshman year for our annual Dance Marathon, the SRHS Class of 2018 set a goal, challenging their peers to raise $100,000 in four years. They have—and more! Our Hawks have raised a four-year total of $131,978.59 for University of Florida Health Shands Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network!

“Over $42,000 worth of miracles were made February 23 for so many families!” said event sponsor Mrs. Shawna Ahmad. “Our leadership team was amazing, led by two passionate, dedicated seniors—Allison Taylor and Kyle Huff—who thank every Hawk for participating in so many ‘hospitality food nights’ and campus events. Our Hawk community demonstrated the energy and passion needed to give the hope of a successful treatment plan to kids who have had unimaginable starts in life, and who continue to endure disruptions to their lives.”

Casko to Coach at The Ridge

Seminole Ridge HS has hired Rick Casko as its new football coach. Casko, who spent the 2017 season as the Royal Palm Beach HS offensive coordinator, is the former head coach at Glades Central HS, compiling a 58-14 record. Casko also has been head coach at Atlantic HS, John I. Leonard HS, and Cass HS in Georgia, where he had the most wins of any coach in school history.

“We’re extremely pleased to have someone of Rick Casko’s caliber become Seminole Ridge’s next football coach,” said athletic director Scott Parks. “We set out to find the best available coach we could find, and I believe we found him. Rick is a proven winner, and a builder of men of character—he’ll be a great addition to build upon the successes our program has had over its first 13 years.”

Hawk Wrestler Advances to States

For the fifth consecutive year, a Ridge wrestler has qualified for state competition: Mitchell Clark (170 lbs) took the bronze in regional competition this past weekend. Congratulations to all three athletes!
